Jerry Pecenka, Jr., 73, Cadiz, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, Ohio. He was born February 10, 1940 in Kinsman, Ohio a son of the late Jerry Pecenka, Sr. and Stella Dubietis Pecenka. He was a coal miner and mechanic for Y&O Coal Company and worked at the Jefferson County Sheriff's office. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Hopedale American Legion. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by a brother Dick Pecenka and a sister Mae Kvocka Dilley. He is survived by 2 daughters: Lisa Tryon and Melanie Pena both of Arizona; a sister, Linda Abel of Cadiz; a brother, Robert Pecenka of Cadiz; and a close friend, Mark (Becky) O'Neill of Bloomingdale, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Monday from 11:00 until time of service at 1:00 pm. with Rev. Ted Davis officiating at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio with military honors conducted by Hopedale American Legion. The memorial guestbook may be signed at www.clark-kirkland.com.
