Jerry Spurling Hill, 61, formerly of Wheeling, WV, and now living with her close friend Tom Coultrap at Cadiz, died Friday, January 10, 2003 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, OH. She was born December 12, 1941 in Tennessee a daughter of Verna Hassinger Valentine Taylor of New Martinsville, WV and the late Gerald Valentine. She was the former owner of the Green Sheet Newstands at Wheeling Downs, Raynham and Wonderland Race Tracks. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Spurling. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a son, Brian Spurling of Virginia Beach, VA; a daugher, Kathy and her husband, Daniel Thomas of Eldersburg, MD; 2 granddaughters, Stephanie and Ashley Thomas; 2 sisters, Judy and her husband, Bob Harris of Mahomet, IL, and Paulette Bunch of Virginia Beach, VA; a stepson, Fred Hill of Akron, OH; a sister-in-law, June and her husband, Rudy Kuzmik of Barberton, OH; and her husband, Dick Hill of Senecaville, OH. Friends may call Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home. Private Services and Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
