Jeanne Stewart

Mabel Jeanne West STEWART, 78, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital, after a brief illness. Ms. Stewart was born August 23, 1932 to the late Clarence Albert and Elizabeth Wood Ramsey West, Sr. in Cadiz, Ohio and had lived in Mansfield the past 24 years. She maintained her membership with the St. James AME Church in Cadiz. Upon moving to Mansfield she came under watch care with the Shiloh Full Gospel Baptist Church. Prior to moving to Mansfield she was very active in St. James as a member of the Stewardess Board, former assistant church clerk secretary, trustee aid, and 4H leader. Jeanne was employed through Green Thumb where she worked at numerous locations one of which was the receptionist at Ocie Hill Center in the Y Awareness Program. She was also known as the Taco Bell Lady working there for 13 years. Jeanne is survived by 5 children: Daughter: Susan (Roger)Henley, Mansfield, Connie Reed, Cadiz, Beth (Richard) Gregory, Palm Coast, Florida, Jerry (Wendy) West, Bellaire, and Jimmy (Gail) West, Washington, District of Columbia; 27 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren; 1 sister: Louine Porter, Columbus; 1 brother: Samuel (Pat) West, Suitland, Maryland; and a sister-in-law: Virginia West, Columbus. In addition to her parents Jeanne was also preceded in death by 5 sisters: Etna Lucas, Lydia Mallory, Helen, Mary Francis, and Phoebe, and 3 brothers: Charles H., James N. and Clarence A. West, Jr. Friends may call Saturday after 12 noon in the Ruth Anna Lee Williams Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Services where the family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the St. James AME Church in Cadiz with Rev. Charles Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in the Cadiz Union Cemetery.
