Jan Byers

Jan Marie Byers, 53, Cadiz, passed away on October 1, 2011. She was born June 20, 1958 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Melvin and Chick Byers and Harold and Dorothy Wickliff. Jan was a member of the Hopedale American Legion Auxiliary for thirty three years. She was a loving mother, daughter and friend, and will be remembered for her giving nature, always taking in and helping those in need. Surviving are her daughter, Amy (Jacob) Sedgmer of New Athens; two sisters: Dorita Byers of Hopedale and Cindy (Ron) Pettay of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; a brother, Melvin (Melanie) Byers of Hopedale; three nieces: Beth, Jenny and Angela; and two nephews: Darren and Eric. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 5, 5-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Spellman of the Harrison Hills United Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio. Afterwards, friends and family are welcome at the Hopedale American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
