James Ourant

James D. Ourant, 81, of the Harrison County Home, formerly of Freeport, Ohio, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at the County Home. He was born June 5, 1921 in Moorefield Twp., Harrison Co., Ohio, a son of the late James C. Ourant and Lydia Scott Ourant. He was a former sexton of Greenmont Cemetery, Freeport, a former employee of the Jarvis Lumberyard in Stillwater, and a former employee of Dennison Sewerpipe. Surviving are 5 daughters, Alice (husband, Leon) Coulson, Piedmont, Ethel Jones, Berea, OH, Wilma (husband, James) Moore, Freeport, Lois Martin, Cambridge, Barbara (husband, Richard) Holloway, Kissimmee, FL; 3 sons, John L. Ourant, Freeport, Roy E. (wife, Donna) Ourant, Tippecanoe, OH, and J. Earl (wife, Kathleen) Ourant, Hamilton, OH; 17 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the Harrison County Cemetery.
