James Mason

James Dallas Mason, 58, of Cadiz, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 2, 1953 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Noble B. Mason, Jr. and Evelyn Worthington Mason. James was a Correction Officer with the Belmont Correction Institution in St. Clairsville, a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz and an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Era. Surviving are two daughters, Laci Mason of Akron and Jaime Mason of Carlisle, IN; a son, Jason Harvey of Jewett; two grandchildren, Fiona and Carlos; four brothers, Noble B. Mason, III (Margaret) of Cadiz, Anthony Mason (Lucy) of Scottsdale, AZ, his twin, Jason Mason (Joyce) of Akron, and Kevin Mason of Cadiz; two sisters, Wendy Williams of Akron and Annette Smith (Frank) of Smithfield. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, 301 E. Market St., Cadiz, with Rev. Charles Simpson officiating. A private interment will be held at Cadiz Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
