James Hauber

James S. Hauber, 82, of Cadiz, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. He was born February 21, 1932 in Parlett, Ohio, a son of the late James and Elizabeth Varkony Hauber. Mr. Hauber was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Cadiz. He was a former welder at Y.&O. Coal Company, having worked in the Nelms No. 1 and No. 2 Mines, and retired from Barmet Aluminum in Uhrichsville. He was a member of UMWA and the Cadiz American Legion and helped coordinate activities for the Salvation Army in Harrison County. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Anthony Demangone and a sister, Marie Gaumer. Surviving are his wife, Michelene "Mickey" Budinsky Hauber; two sons, James Hauber (Nancy) of Chicago and Michael Hauber (Amy Goudy) of Cadiz; seven grandchildren; two brothers, John Hauber (Mary Ann) of New Philadelphia and Anthony Demangone of Salineville; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Townsend (Larry) of North Canton and Frances Brevick of Punta Gorda, FL; and special friends and neighbors, Art and Nan Mattern. Friends may call Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral Litergy with Mass will be celebrated Friday at 12:00 p.m. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, 143 E. South St., Cadiz, OH 43907 by Rev. Fred Kihm. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery near Hopedale. Military honors will be performed by the Cadiz American Legion. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial contributions to St. Teresa's Catholic Church at the above address. Online condolences may be made at www.clark-kirkland.com.
