Isabelle Barker

Isabelle Barker, 93, Cadiz, died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at her home. She was born November 28, 1913 in Hopedale, Ohio a daughter of the late James H. and Rebecca Snyder Laughrige. Mrs. Barker was a homemaker that enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening, especially raising violets. She was active in her church and Missionary Society. She, along with her husband, once owned the Cadiz Mill and were active in the Land of Lakes Camping Club. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Archie John Barker in 1995; three sisters: Dorma Dennis, Helen Dennis, and Frances Rogers; and a great great grandson. She is survived by 5 sons: David and his wife, Judy of Cadiz, Kenny and his wife, Karen of Albion, Illinois, Don and his wife, Jan of Dover, Deleware, Gary and his wife, Kathy of Cadiz, and John and his wife, Ginny of New Concord; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; a sister, Anna Mae Dickinson, and a brother Carl Laughrige, both of Cadiz. Friends may call Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Sunday, December 3, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Hasley officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
