Howard A. ''Pete'' Thompson, 81, Cadiz, died Thursday at Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville, Ohio. Pete was born March 13, 1921 in Kenwood, Ohio a son of the late Clarence and Velma Waldren Thompson. Pete was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the Army having served during World War II. Pete was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a son, Howard (Butch) II; a daughter, Cheryl Solvey; 3 brothers: Ozzie, Junie, and Harvey Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne Huston Solvey Thompson; 2 sons: Roger and Richard Solvey both of Cadiz; 4 Daughters: Donna House and Helen Troy both of Cadiz, Kate Solvey of Bucyrus, and Mardi Edwards of North Canton, Ohio; 10 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; a brother, Carl Thompson of Cleveland; and 2 Sisters: Clara Howes of Harrisville, Ohio and Dorothy Dowdel of Jewett, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Friday, 5-7 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Military Graveside honors will be conducted by Hopedale American Legion.
