Howard Eickleberry

Howard Eickleberry, 79, of Adena, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale, Ohio. He was born October 16, 1944 in Monroe County, Ohio a son of the late Simon Raymond and Mary Eleanor Wheeler Eickleberry. 

Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a coal miner and with New Rocky Valley Farms. He enjoyed running the tractors and other equipment.

He was preceded in addition to his parents; by his companion, Elizabeth “Liz” Busby Soos and a son, Keith Eickleberry.

Surviving is his grandson that he helped raise, Chucky Soos of Adena; a sister, Barb (Tom) Ott of Cadiz; 3 brothers: Dave (Bernice) Eickleberry, Core, West Virginia, Mike (Cathy) Eickleberry of Sevierville, Tennessee and Jeff (Judy) Eickleberry of Cadiz; and number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz with Dean Blythe officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio. Military honors will be provided by the Cadiz American Legion.
