Howard "Jack" Bryan, 84, Cadiz, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born April 16, 1927 in Cadiz, a son of the late Samuel and Laura Fox Bryan. Jack was a proud coal miner having retired from the Consolidation Coal Company Georgetown Preparation Plant after 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was a member of the UMWA, and a long time member of the Cadiz Volunteer Fire Department and the Cadiz Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Wayne Bryan and three sisters, Martha Allen, Mary Woiticek and Maxine Zimmerman. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Evelyn L. Jones Bryan; a son, Scott (Laura) Bryan of Cadiz; a daughter, Lisa Bryan (Ron) Tuchek of Cadiz; ten grandchildren: Randy, Tyler, Dylan, Allyson, Libby, Faythe, Nathan, Ronnie, Willie, and Gary; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Marie (Sam) Danze of Cadiz; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz.
