Herbert Moreland

Herbert Moreland, 85, of Cadiz, died Sunday, June, 2, 2013 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born March 13, 1928 in Somerton, Belmont, Co., Ohio, a son of the late Homer and Hazel Conard Moreland. Herb was a retired employee of R. & F. Coal Company and a member of the House of the Shepherd in New Athens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara "Edith" Tedrow Moreland; three brothers, Homer Moreland, Jr., James Conard Moreland and Tom Moreland; and two sisters, Gladys Brownfield and Mary Anna Fling. Surviving are three sons, James (Mary Jane) Moreland of Webster Springs, WV, Dale (Barbara) Moreland of Norfolk, VA and Scott (Virginia) Moreland of Cadiz; two daughters, Donna Merryman of Hopedale and Sally Moreland of the home; his dear friend Dorothy Henthorn of Cadiz; two grandchildren, Cherie (Ron) Kail and Tyler Moreland; three brothers, Jack (Nadine) Moreland of Tuscarawas, OH, George (Janice) Moreland of Cadiz, and Danny (Elizabeth) Moreland of Reynoldsburg; a half brother, Charles Dean (Ruth) Moreland of Orange Park, Florida; four sisters, Nellie (Dick) Erow of Cadiz, Amy Jean (John) Wheeler of Cleveland Heights, Shirley (Paul) Yoby of Petersburg, Michigan and Terry Lynn (Tim) Henderson of Los Angeles. A service to commit ashes will be held Thursday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale with Rev. Pete Tuchek officiating. The family will receive friends at the First Church of Christ Social Hall following the committal service. Memorial contributions may be made to House of the Shepherd, P.O.
