Henry Misko

November 8, 1930 — March 20, 2013

Henry A. "Andy" Misko died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in his Tappan Lake home following a period of declining health. Born November 8, 1930 in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of the late Sam and Tessianna Gudza Misko, he graduated from Martins Ferry High School. He worked at the Yorkville Plant of Wheeling Steel for 37 years, retiring early due to ill health. He was a 54 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry, serving on boards of Deacons and Elders. He moved to Tappan Lake in 2009 and joined the Cadiz Presbyterian Church. He was a lifelong sports fan, playing football at Martins Ferry, rooting for the Cleveland Browns, but watching the Steelers with his sons. He was an avid hunter and fished with his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their various sporting events. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Misko; sisters, Katherine Dona, Ann Misko, and Rose Yandora; brothers, Sam and Peter Misko. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, JoAnn Steitz Misko; sons, David (Renee) Misko of Tappan Lake, Jeffrey (Lisa) Misko of Mentor, and Brad (Cathleen) Misko of Ragersville; brother, Bill Misko of Dubuque, IA; sister, Olga Heslop of Martins Ferry; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a dog (grandson) named Andrea, whom he loved as his own. Friends may call Friday from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday from noon until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Rev. R.J. Leek will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Church, 154 W.
