Henry W. Hayest, 80, of Cadiz, died Tuesday at his home. He was born April 22, 1926 in Wellsburg, WV, a son of the late Andrew and Johanna Pomenito Hayest. He was a retired Electrician at the Consolidation Coal Co. Central Machine Shop at Cadiz. He was a member of the former E. Market St. Church of Christ in Cadiz; UMWA Local 7690; the Cadiz American Legion; and an honorary member of the Cadiz Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joanna Kay Hayest; three brothers, John, Frank and Edward Hayest; and two sisters, Mary Pyle and Martha Konkoleski. Surviving are his wife, Florence ''Bo'' Thompson Hayest; a son, Thomas and his wife, Brenda Hayest of Gahanna, Ohio; a daughter, Beth and her husband, Robert Swansboro of Cranberry Twp., PA; three grandchildren: Colin Swansboro and Allison and Andrea Hayest; a brother, Edmund and his wife, Doris Hayest of Brunswick Hills, Ohio; two sisters, JoAnn and her husband, Larry Barkhurst of Adena and Ruth and her husband, Bob Figurski of Bedford Heights, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Hasley officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery, with Military Honors performed by the Cadiz American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
