Helen Arlene Solvey Troy, 69, of Scio, Ohio, formerly of Cadiz, Ohio, died Monday, September 16, 2019 at Union Hospital in Dover. She was born October 19, 1949 in Canton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Mike Solvey, Jr., and the late Ruth Anne Huston Solvey Thompson. Helen was a care giver. She loved helping others and "raised everyone's kids". She loved her bird and her cat. When she was able, she worked with the MRDD at Tappan Lake Park. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Troy; step-father, Howard "Pete" Thompson; brothers, Roger and Richard Solvey; sister, Cheryl Solvey; half-brother, Howard "Butch" Thompson; step-sister, Donna House, step-daughter, Donna Troy DiLoretto; and step-son, Bill Troy. Surviving are two sisters, Catherine "Kate" Solvey of Cadiz and Martha Solvey (Daniel) Edwards of Stuart, FL; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Solvey of Cadiz and Rhonda Dudley Solvey of SC; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. Online condolences may be made at www.clark-kirkland.com.
