Helen Mattern Phillippi

Helen Virginia Mattern Phillippi, 94, of Fishers, passed away peacefully December 27, 2023.  She was born January 31, 1929 in Cadiz, Ohio to the late Reson Neil and Lila Work Mattern.  Helen married Fredrick R. Phillippi September 29, 1950 and he preceded her in death May 17, 2019.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Helen was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution.

     Visitation will be Friday, December 29, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers. There will also be a memorial visitation at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz, Ohio Thursday January 4, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. followed by interment in Cadiz Union Cemetery.

     Helen is survived by her sons, Mark F. Phillippi (Debra) and Neil R. Phillippi; grandchildren: Brian, Kristin, Scott, Lisa, Brady, Susan, Margaret, and Neil; and 16 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew N. Phillippi; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Phillippi; sisters, Mary Ann Nelms and Margaret J. Johnson; and brothers-in-law, Walter Phillippi, George Nelms, and James Johnson.
