Helen Finnie

Helen M. Finnie, 87, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Tappan Lake, died Thursday at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born January 23, 1926 in Neville Island, PA, a daughter of the late Louis and Josephine Prastina Belloma. Mrs. Finnie was a retired cook at the Tappan Marina and Coultrap's and was a Foster Grandmother with Harcatus Community Action. She was a Bingo player and enjoyed watching sports on television. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dix Finnie in 1977, and by three brothers, Joseph, Tony and Louis Belloma and a sister, Rose Phillips. Surviving are a son, Thomas (Sharon) Finnie of Dover; a daughter Karen (Ed) Heavener of Tappan Lake; twin grandsons, Matthew and Jacob Finnie; two sisters, Thomasine Eggie of Neville Island, PA and Margaret Ann Doyle of Frankfort, DE; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery on Tappan Lake. Rev. Dixie Hendricks will officiate.
