Helen Dressel

Helen Davis Shaw Dressel, 90, Cadiz, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. She was born August 1, 1916 in Jefferson County, Ohio a daughter of the late Ray and Emma Johnston McKee Davis. She was a former Deacon and member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz; a former member of Cadiz Women' Civic Club; a member of Smithfield Chapter 332 of Order of Eastern Star; and was a retired sales clerk for the former Louanna Turner Dress Shop in Cadiz. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her first husband, Robert Shaw in 1962; 2 brothers: Don McKee and Kenneth Davis; and a sister, Jean Straus. She is survived by her husband George (Les) Dressel; a son Donald Shaw and his wife Betty Jo of Cadiz; 2 daughters: Linda J. Ulrich and her husband John of Pickerington and Mary Lou Kantor and her husband William of Edmonds, Washington; 6 grandchildren: Susan (Tony) Krueger, Jane (Troy) Friend, Heidi Jo Shaw Ripley, Heather (Jody) Keller, Andrew Shaw Ulrich (and friend Brandi Little), Aaron Ulrich; 6 great grandchildren: Shane Ripley, Seth and Abby Keller, Haylee Meinhart, and Ruby and Alton Krueger. Calling hours are Friday, April 20, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. David Rice officiating.
