Harry Taylor

Harry B. Taylor, 83, of Cadiz, formerly of Canton, died Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. He was born September 9, , 1922 in McMechen, WV, a son of the late Robert and Minnie Pastorius Taylor. He was a retired Inspector at the Timken Co. in Canton and was a member of the Deersville United Methodist Church. During WW II, Mr Taylor was a Turret Ball Gunner on a B-24 in the 454th Bombardment Group of the US Air Force. He served in the European Theater of war on fifty one missions. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Russel Taylor; two sisters, Mildred Siward and Daisy Poulson; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Gravo; and two nephews, Richard Lee Taylor and Richard Lee Fogle. Surviving are his wife, Edith Moore Taylor; a son, Randall Taylor of Sacramento, CA; two step daughters, Carol Ficken of Cuyahoga Falls and best friend, Robert McArty of Cleveland and Peggy Walker (Randy) of Colerain; grandchildren: Laura (Ed) Mogel, Seven Valley, PA, Thaddeus (Tina) Gravo of Las Vegas, William (Denise) Huntsman of Louisville, KY, Douglas (Julia) Ficken of Ludlow, VT, Gregory Ficken of Cleveland, Jody (Katie) Walker of Colerain, Shannon (Gregory) Caniff of Wintersville, and Brenda (Gary) Shriver of Des Moines, IA; and 18 great grandchildren. Friends may call Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Deersville United Methodist Church with Rev. Cathy Burke and Rev. Alan Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Patterson Cemetery, Deersville. Military Honors will be performed by the Cadiz American Legion. Online condolences may be made at www.clark-kirkland.com.
