Harold E. Wickliff, 69, of Jewett, went to be with the Lord at his residence on Saturday night, following an extended illness from Scleroderma. He was born July 17, 1940 in Granville, Ohio, a son of the late Wayne and Carol Baughman Wickliff. He was raised by his grandparents, Mary and Perry Bush. Harold served in the United States Air Force for three years. He was a Life Member and Past Commander, for ten years, of the Hopedale American Legion. He was a twenty eight year member of 40 8. He was also a Life Member and Past President of the Hopedale Sportsman Club and a longtime member of the Harrison Antique Tractor Club. He retired from Sears after twenty seven years of dedicated work. Surviving are his beloved wife of twenty five years, Dorothy Atkins Byers Wickliff; a son David (Ruth) Wickliff of Granville, Ohio; four step-children: Dorita Byers and Melvin (Melanie) Byers, all of Hopedale, Cindy (Ron) Pettay of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Jan Byers of Jewett; seven grandchildren: Hayley, Eric, Darren, Amy, Beth, Jenny and Angela; an honorary granddaughter, Mary Hutyera; and eleven great grandchildren. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kirt Denney officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale. Military honors will be provided by the Hopedale American Legion.
