Graydon A. Hendershott, 83, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, formerly of Cadiz and Canton, Ohio, died Monday at Morning View Care Center, New Philadelphia. He was born June 18, 1919 in Harrison County, Ohio, a son of the late Marion and Hazel Lee Hendershott. He was a Steelworker for Republic Steel Company in Canton, Ohio, and an Army Veteran of WW II, having served under General MacArthur in the South Pacific Theater, where he earned four Bronze Stars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean L. White Hendershott, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are 5 sons, William of North Canton, Larry of Canton, Robert of Florida, Graydon of Canton and David of New York; 1 daughter, Cynthia Anderson of Richfield, Georgia; 1 brother, Leroy Hendershott of Mesa, Arizona; and 1 sister, Ella Mae Vaughn of East Liverpool, Ohio. Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, where Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 7, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with David Collier officiating. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio. Military Services will be conducted by the Cadiz American Legion.
