Grace M. Cannon, 57, Mingo Junction, Ohio formerly of Cadiz, died Wednesday, April 30, at Trinity Medical Center, East in Steubenville, Ohio. Grace was born August 17, 1945 in Cadiz, a daughter of the late Roy and Bernice Mattern Bland. Grace was a housewife and a member of the First Church of Christ on North Main Street in Cadiz. She was also a former member of the following organizations: Deersville Village Council, Gnadenhutten American Legion Auxiliary and Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, the Harrison County Order of the Eastern Star, Cadiz EMS Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz. She presently was a member of the Deersville Players having served in acting and as a stagehand and the Brilliant American Legion Auxiliary. Grace was preceded in death in addition to her parents by 3 brothers: George, Kenneth, and Joseph Bland. Grace is survived by her husband, William C. Cannon of Mingo Junction; a daughter and son in law: Michelle and Joseph Anderson of Mingo Junction; 2 granddaughters: Amber and Clara Anderson; 2 brothers: Ronald Bland of Cadiz and James Bland of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 1 sister, Charmaine Greer of Cadiz; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Calling hours are Friday, May 2, 7-9 and Saturday, May 3, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Sunday, May 4 at 2:00 with Kenneth Swelbar officiating. Burial follows in Longview Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio.
