On Wednesday morning September 2, 2015 Gloria Jean George Richards took the hand of her savior when he called her home with her husband Bob and granddaughter Kelley by her side. Born March 10, 1938 she was the only child of the late Harry and Eleanor George of Georgetown, Ohio. She married the love of her life Robert "Bob" Richards on August 10, 1957. Her survivors include: her husband, Robert "Bob" Richards of Cadiz; son, Todd Richards and his wife Josann, their children: Madison and Paige Richards of Cadiz; daughter, Debbie Richards Carver and her late husband Jay Carver, and their daughters: Kelley and Krista Carver of Denver, North Carolina. Gloria was a long time member of Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz. She worked as a bookkeeper for 17 years at R&F Coal Company. She was a member and past President of Cadiz Junior Women's Club and she volunteered for the American Heart Association for many years. Gloria was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who took special pride in all of her granddaughter's achievements. She deeply loved her family, church friends, gardening and animals. She won the Landscape Hall of Fame Award and rescued hundreds of homeless animals finding them all loving homes. She will be deeply missed by many. Friends may call Friday, 3-8 p.m. at Scott United Methodist Church, 817 E. Market St., Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Snodgrass officiating.
