Gilbert W. ''Bert'' Ott, 81, of Jewett, Ohio, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at his home. He was born January 17, 1927 in Costonia, Ohio, a son of the late William E. and Edna Mae Gill Ott. Bert was a self employed owner-operator truck driver and a retired member of the Teamsters Union. He was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ and the Hopedale American Legion Post 682. He was an Army Veteran of WW II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Danne and Michael Ott and by a brother, William Ott, Jr. Surviving are his wife of fifty nine years, Patricia Lukens Ott, two sons, Thomas Robert and his wife, Barb Ott of Cadiz and James Timothy and his wife, Julie Ott of Sun Prairie, WI; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles William Ott and James Robert Ott, both of Unionport; a sister, Lillian E. Myers of Georgetown, TX and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Dean Blythe officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Gardens Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Hopedale American Legion.
