Gerri (Snyder) Clore, 85, of Newcomerstown, Ohio formerly of Jewett, Ohio passed away June 4th, 2024 at Union Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Dunlap Snyder. Gerri was born December 22, 1938.
Gerri was a manager at the former Airport Restaurant, in Cadiz, Ohio, she owned and ran Gerri’s Country Kitchen in Cadiz, Ohio, then operated Inches Away in Winterville, Ohio until her retirement.
As so many know she was a fabulous cook. Tried many wonderful recipes. Any food that her hands touched was magical. Most nieces and nephews had a favorite and she would make sure to make it, along with her brothers and sisters. Her famous green Jello will be missed by so very many.
She was many young people’s first boss from the area. She would give anyone and everyone a chance.
Aunt Ger or Aunt Gerri to so many. She had a mother’s love for all. Her favorite song to sing was “You are my sunshine.” Many children through the years heard this song from her.
She was the greatest cheerleader for all of us. She gave great cooking tips to anyone who wanted and she gave the best advice. She had great wisdom and shared it with everyone.
She is survived by her brother Charles (Vivian) Snyder of Wintersville, Ohio brother Leonard (Beverly) Snyder of Wellston, Ohio, sister Marlene (Donnie) Darr of Newcomerstown, Ohio, and sister Darlene (Jeffrey) Magers of Newcomerstown, Ohio. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Along with a host of cousins and friends.
Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest brother Robert Snyder, her sisters Ruby Boyer and Grace Cheuvront. A number of nieces and nephews along with a special nephew Rick Snyder.
Gerri was very faithful to God and her church. She was a member of the Christan Lighthouse Church in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
God had healed Gerri many times in the past. She trusted and believed in the power of prayer. This time she told us she could not fight again. We honored her wishes. Now she has won the race and has her crown of life.
