Geraldine Christy

Geraldine Christy, 84, of Ashley, OH, formerly of Hopedale, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the home of her son, Ralph in Hopedale. She was born March 15, 1928 in St. Clairsville, OH, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gabel. She was the store manager of So-Fro Fabrics in Steubenville and Columbus, Ohio, and was a former member of the D of A. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph (Spider) Christy, Sr. in 1977; a son, James Christy who was killed in the Viet Nam War; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are three sons, Donald (Dixie) Christy of Unionport, Ralph (Darlene) Christy, Jr. of Hopedale, and Joseph (Vandy) Christy of California; three daughters, Jonnetta Appolloni of St. Clairsville, Barbara Glessner of Toronto, and Peggy Christy (Mark) DaVia of Ashley, OH; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Friends may call Monday, 2-4 and 6-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Dean Blythe officiating.
