George W. Haynes, 82, of Newcomerstown, formerly of Gnadenhutten, Dennison and Cadiz, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Riverside Manor Nursing Home, Newcomerstown. He was born January 22, 1926 in Mingo Jct., Ohio, a son of the late Roy Clifford and Edna Stillwell Haynes. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Teamster's Union. An Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a former member of the New Philadelphia Moose and a life member and honor guard member of the VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helene Brown Haynes; three sisters, Edna Mae Manbeck, Shirley Haynes, and Pauline Stackhouse; and three brothers, Charles and Ronald and Roy Haynes, Jr. Surviving are two sons, William Michael and Timothy Lucas Haynes, both of Gnadenhutten; a grandson, Christopher Haynes; a sister, Dorothy Nicholson of New Philadelphia; his former wife, Ruth Lucas Veigel of Gnadenhutten; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Rev. Jack Visser will officiate.
