George Lester Dressel, 96, of Edmonds, Washington, formerly of Cadiz, Ohio, died Monday, December 30, 2013 in Seattle, Washington. He was born December 17, 1917 in Smithfield Twp., Jefferson County, Ohio, a son of the late George H. and Ada Olive Barkhurst Dressel. Mr. Dressel was a member, Elder, and former Trustee of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, a member of the Smithfield Lodge 182, F. and a member and former Patron of Smithfield Chapter 331, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a retired employee of Consolidation Coal Company General Services Division. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Rickey Dressel in 1977; his second wife, Helen Davis Shaw Dressel in 2007; two half-brothers, Joseph Foster Dressel and Ben Earl Dressel; and a half-sister, Edith Florence Vale. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lou Kantor (William) of Edmonds, WA; a step-son, Donald Shaw (Betty Jo) of Cadiz, OH; a step-daughter, Linda J. Ulrich (John) of Pickerington, OH; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 till services at 2:00 that afternoon at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz, OH, with Rev. Robert Hooker officiating.
