George H. ''Bud'' Crawshaw, 83, of Cadiz, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Harrison County Home. He was born January 7, 1925 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, a son of the late Thomas H. And Rose Everett Crawshaw. Bud was the retired owner and operator of B.G. Auto Supply (NAPA) in Steubenville and was a member of Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz. He served his country during WW II as a sergeant in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. He participated in the Normandy Invasion and served in France, Germany, and throughout the European Theatre. He was awarded four Bronze Stars. Bud was also a longtime Boy Scout Master, leading the troupe that met at the Broadway Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. He was an avid dog lover and woodworker. He has passed that love of woodworking on to the generations that follow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marion Hawk Crawshaw, and two infant brothers, Thomas and James Crawshaw. Surviving are six children, Beverly Hensley of New Philadelphia, Rebecca Baker of Shadyside, Tom (Judy) of Stone Mountain, GA, Curt (Judy) of Cadiz; Melissa Crawshaw of Moorisville, NC and Linda (Glen) Niemeier of Bellbrook, OH; ten grandchildren: Steven, Bryan and Curtis Crawshaw, Eric and Mindi Baker, Tyler Hensley, Courtney and Thomas Crawshaw, Jacob and Shane Niemeier; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline ''Polly'' Gautt of Navarre. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Scott United Methodist Church, 817 E. Market St., Cadiz, OH 43907, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 with Rev. Richard Hasley officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
