Francis Blake

Francis L. Blake, 74, Cadiz, died Wednesday, May 22, at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born February 17, 1928, in Adena, Ohio a son of the late Monroe and Mildred Adams Blake. He was a retired Tipple Operator for Y&0 Nelms Mine #1 and a member of UMWA District 6, Local 283. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a son Terry Francis Blake and a brother Robert Blake. He is survived by his wife, Helen Mansfield Blake; 2 daughters: Barb Blake of Cadiz and Bonnie Cain of Barnesville, Ohio; 2 brothers: Richard Blake of Cadiz and Emerson Blake of Alexandria, Virginia; and 3 sisters: Betty Mattern and Dorothy Norris both of Cadiz, and Martha Ferri of Georgetown, Ohio. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Clint Marshall officiating. Burial will be at Holly Memorial Gardens, Plesant Grove, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross Blood Services, 995 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43205 or to American Heart Association or to the Ameican Cancer Society.
