Evelyn Smith

Evelyn B. Smith, 77, of Cadiz, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Harrison County Home. She was born March 7, 1935 in New Rumley, OH, a daughter of the late Samuel Edward and Mary Jane Ferrell Gotshall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Buzzy Gotshall. Mrs. Smith was a former employee of the Scio Pottery, a retired custodian at the Harrison County Court House and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz. She always said that her family was the most important thing in her life. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Loman Smith; two sons, Samuel and Roy (Lisa) Smith, all of Cadiz; two grandchildren, Cody (Courtney) Maffitt and Alison (Jon) Birney, all of Cadiz; two great grandchildren: Dominic and Paige Maffitt; two sisters, Juanita Genevieve (Gerold) Atherton of New Rumley and Donna Mae (Jim) Tuckosh of Kilgore. Friends may call Wednesday, 5-7 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Samuel Betts officiating.
