Ernest H. Best, 66, Cadiz, died Friday, February 28, at his home. Ernie was born July 29, 1936 in Cadiz, Ohio a son of the late Harry Best and Lucille Richard Best Bell. Ernie was a retired crane operator having worked at Howard Bowers; a member of Hopedale Church of Christ; Ohio Operating Engineers Union; Flushing Lodge #298, F. Cadiz American Legion Post 34; Cadiz Eagles Aeire #2162 having served as past president and all-star state chaplain for the Cadiz State Ritual Team. He is survived by his wife Midge Wardle Best; 4 children: Peter Best and his wife Ann of North Kingstown, RI; Mary Beth Neville and husband Kelly of Araphaoe, NC; Christopher Best and his wife Linda of North Providence, RI; and Erica Seese and her husband David (Andy) of Lynwood, Washington; and 8 grandchildren. Calling hours are Monday, 3-5 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., with Dean Blythe officiating. Private interment at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions may be made to Carroll County Hospice, 1040 Trump NW, Suite B, Carrollton, Ohio 44615. Masonic service Monday at 6:45 p.m. and Eagle service Monday at 7:30 p.m.
