Emmalynn Grace Slaga

Emmalynn Grace “Emmy” Slaga, almost 2 years old, passed away on March 28, 2025, at home surrounded by her parents after a courageous battle with T-cell Lymphoma. She was born on May 24, 2023, in Morgantown, West Virginia, the daughter of Corey and Marlena Roush Slaga.

Emmy loved all things girly. Minnie mouse, baby dolls and unicorns were a few of her favorites! She loved camping with her family and playing with her big brother. She loved to dance; any tune would get her moving! She was a spitfire—just as sassy as she was sweet. She was also incredibly brave, laughing and dancing her way through chemo treatments. Emmy was such a smiley girl, despite her illness, she continued to smile through it all.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandpa, Larry “Pappy Bub” Roush, Jr., and several great-grandparents.

She is survived and so dearly loved in addition to her parents by her big brother, Jameson; grandparents, Mike “Pap Pap” and Teresa “Nana” Slaga, Tina “Gigi” and “Pappy Jerry” Haynes; her uncle, Mike “Uncle Mikey” Slaga; great-grandparents, Barbara “Mema” Roush and Larry “Pappy” and “Grandma” Deb Roush; special cousins, Chrissy (Dan) Hutchison, Jessica (Kyle) Zimmerman, Logan Cunningham, Zane Cunningham and Hunter Roush; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Emma’s family would like to thank the community that rallied around them, “Emmalynn’s Entourage” for all of their support during her battle. They would also like to thank her oncology team at UPMC Children’s, Dr. Andrew Bukowinski, Dr. Michelle Roe and all the incredible nurses on floor 9B, and her special care team, Dr. Scott Maurer and Carol Maye. They would also like to thank her nurse from Valley Hospice, Tonni.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, with visitation from 12-2 and 3-5 at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz. The funeral service will follow at 5:00p.m. with Marlin Hawley officiating. A dinner for friends and family will be held following the service.
