Emily Eckley

February 27, 1939 — September 18, 2003

Emily Jean Sickle Eckley, 64, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 18, 2003 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on February 27, 1939, a daughter of the late Alvie W. and Emily Fern McCue Sickle. She was a member of the First Church of Christ of Cadiz, a past member of the Cadiz Emergency Squad, and had worked in the banking business for 34 years; was retired from the First National Bank of Cadiz, and currently worked at the Harrison County Auditor's Office. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother; her husband, Homer W. Eckley on October 7, 1996; a step sister, Alice Mae Andric; and a step brother, Alfred Deselem. Surviving are a son, Douglas Eckley of Wintersville; a daughter, Deborah Fern Eckley-Meyer of Cadiz; a step daughter, Barbara Eckley of Wheeling; three grandchildren, Wesley Meyer, and Hannah and Aaron Eckley; and a sister, Rosalie Horn of Jewett; an aunt, Mary Alice Slates of Brewster; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Friends may call Monday, September 22, 2003 from Noon until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Cadiz, Ohio 43907 David Collier and Ken Swelbar will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Jewett, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to her church.
