Eleanor Mae Theodore

Eleanor Mae Theodore, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, Ohio at the age of 92.

 Born on April 29, 1932, to Robert and Sarah Yocum, Eleanor dedicated her life to her family and home. As a devoted homemaker, she created a warm and loving environment that became the heart of her family. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering love touched all who knew her. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert Theodore Sr.; her parents, Robert and Sara Yocum; her sister, Donna Mencer, and brother, Robert Yocum. 

She is survived by her three sons, Robert Theodore Jr. (spouse Cathy) of Uniontown, Ohio, Timothy Theodore (spouse Susan) of Lima, Ohio, and Todd Theodore (spouse Renee) of Delaware, Ohio. Eleanor was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Christina (spouse Chris), Jessica (spouse Tom), Jennifer (spouse Zac), Michele (spouse, Andrew), Dominic, Madison, and Juliana, and five great-grandchildren, Maddox, Odin, Vincent, Juniper, and Alice, who were her greatest joys. She is also survived by her brother, Lawrence (spouse Jane) Yocum. The family wishes to thank friends and neighbors Vee Jay and Barbara Beadling, and Eleanor’s niece Lana Smith, her husband Bill and daughter Becki, for taking special care of her over the years. She is also fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00p.m. with Paul Giffin officiating at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Valley Hospice in Eleanor’s memory.
