Eleanor Newcomer, 76, of Cadiz, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the Carriage Inn of Cadiz. She was born September 27, 1930 in Mountain Lake Park, Maryland, a daughter of the late Earl LeRoy and Phyllis Marie Turney Newcomer. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, where she directed the Chancel Choir for many years and served as Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and Pianist. She also coordinated the Cadiz Community Choir Festival, was a member of the Business and Professional Womens Club, Harrison County Council of Churches, and a was a volunteer for the Clark Gable Foundation. Eleanor was a Secretary at the Hal Roach Insurance Agency in Cadiz for twenty years, and worked at the Custer Pharmacy and the City Loan, all in Cadiz. Surviving are a brother, Larry Newcomer of Cadiz; two sisters, Patricia Newcomer of Arlington, Virginia and Beverly Clark of Las Vegas, Nevada; two nieces; a nephew; and a great niece. Friends may call 7-9 Thursday at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Friday, November 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. David Rice officiating. Burial will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison Community Hospital, 951 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio 43907.
