Elda Taylor

Elda M. Taylor, 93, of Cadiz, died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born June 8, 1919 in Deersville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Bryce and Doris Dickey Smith. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Deersville United Methodist Church and was a retired Nurses Aid from Harrison Community Hospital. She was a former co-owner and operator, during WW II, of the Deersville General Store and formerly worked at the concession stand at Tappan Lake Park. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russel Eugene Taylor in 1998; a son Richard Taylor; a brother, Ralph Dwight (Red) Smith; and a grandson, Shaun Taylor. Surviving are a son Robert (Donna) Taylor of Rochester, NY; five grandsons, Jason, Nathan, Zachary, Jeremy and Christopher; seven great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Edith Taylor of Cadiz and a special friend and "daughter", Susan Adams of Cadiz. Friends may call Saturday, September 22 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Deersville United Methodist Church. Rev. Keith Cope and Rev. Alan Rose will officiate. Burial will follow at Patterson Cemetery, Deersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Deersville United Methodist Church.
