Edward C. Gammeter, 80, of Cadiz, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz. He was born September 13. 1923 in Cadiz, a son of the late J. Meade and Vera Cummings Gammeter. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz. He served in the Army in WW II, and was a retired Machinist for W.F. Gammeter Co. and R. & F. Coal Co. in Cadiz. Surviving are his wife Dorothy Bice Gammeter; two sons, Roger Gammeter and his wife, Karen of Cadiz, and Eric Gammeter and his wife, Barbara of New Market, MD; 3 grandchildren, Todd Gammeter and his fiancé, Carrie Canfield of Uhrichsville, Collin Gammeter, of Bellaire, and Lisa Giacco of Frederick, MD; and a great grandson, Andrew Giacco of Frederick, MD. Mr. Gammeter was a member of Harrison Lodge 219, F & AM, and was Deputy Grand Master of Masons in Ohio; he was a founder of the Harrison Amateur Radio Club; was Past President of Pittsburgh, Chapter 6 of the Quarter Century Wireless Association; a member of the Canton, Chapter 21 of the QCWA; and for many years was a member of the Harrison County Airport Authority. Friends may call Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. William Hudson officiating. A Masonic Service will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Cadiz American Legion.
