Edna Smith

Smith, Edna Marie, 93, formerly of McComb, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord and her deceased husband, children, family members and friends on March 19, 2011 at Union Hospital, Dover, Ohio after declining health problems. She was born January 11, 1918 at Findlay, Ohio, a daughter of Delbert and Dora (Gladhart) Warren. Edna was a banker with the Peoples Bank in McComb, Ohio for many years and helped her husband, Walter, on the farm in McComb. She was an avid camper and she and Walter enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends. She had many hobbies, two of which were her large collection of dolls, and many beautiful afghans, doilies, doll clothes and hats and mittens she crocheted and shared with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter, her loving sons, Dale and Larry and siblings, Alice, Zelma and Mary. Also preceding her in death were several nephews and nieces. She is survived by her daughter by love, Joyce Klingler, and nine grandchildren, Carole (John) McGonigal, Alice (Clint) Barr, Rebecca (Jason) Carr, Tammy Bolander, Dale, Jr., Terry Rocky, Stephen and Patrick Smith. She is also survived by a number of great grandchildren, including Emily, Jacob, Jarrod, Joyce, Shelby, Sarah, Jenny and Carissa, and several nieces and nephews. Edna is also survived by the wonderful people with whom she lived and those who took care of her both at Hilty Memorial Home in Pandora, Ohio and at Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover, Ohio. As Edna stated herself many times these people became her family. Services will be held on Friday at McComb Presbyterian Church in McComb, Ohio. Calling hours will be 11:00 1:00 with service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622 or the McComb Presbyterian Church, McComb, Ohio.
