EDITH MAY ALEXANDER, AGE 100, OF Sullivan, Ill, formerly of Cadiz and Scio passed away at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, Ill. Born October 28, 1911, in Pittsburgh, Pa. "Deedee" is the daughter of the late James W. King and Ethel Amelia Alcorn King. She resided in Harrison County for most of her life. EDITH retired from the Scio Pottery Company. She was formerly a member of the Eastern Stars and is a member of the Ridge Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon and played the piano for many years. She loved to knit in her free time. She attended college at Pitt. Edith was married May 5, 1937, to the late Harold V. Alexander, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 23, 1973. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Habern, Dorothy King and one great grandchild. She is survived by three children, son, Harold V. (Marilyn) Alexander, Jr. of Cadiz, two daughters, Sara "Sally" Elizabeth (Dean) Huff of Scio and Dorothy Eleanor Huff of Sullivan, IL. She has seven grandchildren, Tammy (David) Miller OF New Philadelphia, Harold Victor (Lisa) Alexander III of Daytona Beach, FL., Sue (Mike) Eddy of Deersville, Delmar (June) Huff OF Delaware, Ohio, Dorrie Donnals of Sullivan, Ill., Jessie (Bob) Bennett of Strasburg and Michael Huff of Canton. She has 14 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, The Association for the Blind or the Ridge Presbyterian Church, Jewett, Ohio Funeral Services will be held Sunday March 11, 2012 at 2:00 in the Clark- Kirkland Funeral home in Cadiz, With Rev. R.J. Leek officiating. Burial will be in the Ridge Presbyterian Church (Archer Twp) Cemetery. Calling hours are from 12 TO 2 Sunday with Services at 2.
