Dorthy Gross

Dorthy Gross, 83, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Cadiz, Ohio, died Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Regency Manor in Columbus. She was born December 12, 1922 in Smithfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Allen and Lorretta Harris West. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz, a homemaker and foster parent to many children. In addtion to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Gross in 1992; by two sons, Donald Gross and Allen West; 2 brothers, William and Wayne West; and 2 sisters, Marietta Jefferson and Jean Johnson. Surviving are two sons, Drew Gross of Lancaster, CA and David Gross of Wheeling, WV; three daughters, Deanna L. Gross of Columbus, OH, Donna J. Gross-Zerayesus of Blacklick, Ohio, and Georgianna Gross of Virginia; 22 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Slade of Columbus; and a brother, John West of Columbus. Friends may call Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 31, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, Cadiz with Rev. L.A. Gatewood and Rev. Bernard Gaiton officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery. The memorial guestbook may be signed at www.clark-kirkland.com.
