Dorothy Simonson

Dorothy L. Simonson, 84, a longtime resident of Cadiz, died Tuesday, Sept 14, at the Sterling House, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born in Short Creek Township, November 14, 1925, a daughter of the late John and Blanche Wetzel Albright. She was a lifetime member of Dickerson Church and Scott United Methodist Church, a past member of its Lisle Jones Circle; retired legal secretary for Pettay, Mosser & Spiker;a secretary to Judge Rowland, Harrison County Probate Court; a member of the Women's Golf Club at Cadiz Country Club, and a volunteer at Harrison Community Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, her twin Doris L. Albright, Mary E. Albright, Henrietta (Hank) King and Eva Barnett; two brothers, John Albright and Robert Hesford. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Vernon (Barney) Simonson now residing in Cincinnati,, two children: a son Craig (Mary) Simonson of Cincinnati and a daughter Carol Sue (Patrick) Pigott of Dallastown, PA; 4 loving grandchildren: Sean Pigott, Denver, CO, Erik (Jenna) Simonson, Kevin Simonson and Amy (Ryan) Cooper, all of Cincinnati; 2 great-grandchildren Morgan & Nathan Simonson plus numerous neices & nephews. Friends & family will be received Friday, September 17th from 10:00 until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Scott United Methodist Church, 817 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio. Rev. Ashley Steele will officiate. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., Floor 17.
