Doris Cochran, 83, of Cadiz died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Gables Care Center in Hopedale surrounded by her family. She was born March 13, 1929 in Cadiz, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Viola Brown Mitchell. Doris, along with her late husband was the former owner and operator of JD Lanes in Cadiz and worked for Cadiz Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz and the Cadiz Country Club where she and her husband were avid golfers. She was a grandma at Westgate Elementary School, a member of Cadiz Distaff, volunteered at Harrison Community Hospital and was a member of the same bridge club for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry B. "Jim" Cochran in 1993. Surviving are five children, Sandy Warrington, Jamie (David) Baker, Jerry (Leslie) Cochran, Pam (Richard) Rusen and Brenda (Butch) Carter, all of Cadiz; twelve grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Friends may call Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. R.J. Leek officiating.
