Donna P. Brooks

Donna P. Brooks, 82, of Cadiz, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio. She was born August 23, 1941 in Cadiz, Ohio a daughter of the late Richard and Edith Bell Jones.

Donna was a member of the St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz where she sang in the choir, served on several boards and was a member of the Arch Jackson Post VFW Legion Auxiliary . She was a retired school crossing guard.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her husband, Raymond “Sonny” Brooks; a son, Raymond Douglas Brooks; a daughter, Edith Brooks; brothers: Richard, Larry, Fritz and Michael Jones; and sisters: Joann Hython, Elaine Wilson, Sharon Cooper and Ellen Olmstead.

Surviving is her sons: Michael (Bobbi Jo) “Bam Bam” Brooks of Cadiz; Mark (Denise) Brooks of Cadiz, Todd (Brigette) Brooks of Conroe, Texas, Matthew(Mandi) Brooks of Cadiz and Marshall Brooks of Steubenville; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers: Gordon (Vivian) Jones of Cadiz and Jerry (Constance) Jones of Cadiz; sisters: Toni Jones of Ft. Mitchell, Alabama and Roberta (Richard) West of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 9th from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at St. James A.M.E. Church, 300 East Market Street, Cadiz, with Pastor Patricia Angel officiating. There will be a Re-Pass following the funeral to greet the family. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
