August 6, 1929 — February 3, 2002

David Worley passed to the great beyond February 3, 2002 at the age of 72 after a one month bout with pneumonia and complications thereto. He was born on August 6, 1929 in Cadiz on Charleston Street, where the Worley family had a presence for nearly 100 years until the 1980's, and grew up in the late 1930's and 40's with a ''gang'' of Charleston Street ''kids''. His father was John G. Worley a long time Harrison County Attorney and Common Pleas Judge as was his Grandfather, John B. Worley, his Mother, Clara Cochran Worley grew up on a farm south of Cadiz and drove her horse and buggy to Cadiz High School in the early 1900's. Later she taught Latin there to her sons and many others. Dave was an excellent student, played in the high school band and was the catcher on the high school baseball team which included stellar Cadiz athletes such as Bob Mazeroski and Don Henderson. He followed family tradition and attended The College of Wooster where he graduated in 1951 with a degree in Biology. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and spent his service time working in Biological weapon research. On completing military service he spent several years doing graduate work at Kansas State University where he recieved Masters and PhD degrees in Parasitology. His working career included four years at Parke Davis in Ann Arbor, Michigan and then on to Montana State University in Bozeman where he found his real ''love'' in teaching both graduate and undergraduate students in many research projects. Dave was internationally known in his field of Parasite study and spent time with scientists in that field in South America and Europe. He is remembered for the way he eagerly invested himself in the lives of others with his tireless nurture and guidance marking the lives of many. Dave and Judy Jacobson were married in 1968 and shared the next 34 years. His hobbies included photography, hiking, hunting, and camping. He continued the family tradition of bird study and participated in more than 30 Christmas bird counts in the Bozeman area. Dave was active in community affairs and very active in Presbyterian Church in the Bozeman area. He is survived by his wife, Judy Worley of Bozeman, a son Tim Worley of Corvallis, OR; son Mark Worley and wife Deanna of Spokane, WA and brother, John C. Worley and his wife Carol of Rockport, TX; and seveal nieces and nephews. Services were held February 7th at the First Presbyterian Church in Bozeman.
