David Banks

David Matthew Banks, 54, of Dover, formerly of Cadiz and Columbus, died April 16, 2013 in Dover. He was born May 1, 1958 in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of the late Edward Henry Banks, Sr. and Ora Pauline Cooper Banks. David was a youth coordinator with a group home in Martins Ferry and formerly coached basketball in Cadiz. He attended the First Church of Christ in Cadiz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Phillip, John, Peter and Tim Banks; and five sisters, Mildred Brooks, Jeanette Burgins, Mary Wilkinson, Ora Christian and Edwina Crooms. Surviving are his children, D.J. and Katie Banks; five brothers, Edward (Mary) Banks, Jr., Mike (Renee) Banks, Gene (Penny) Banks, Paul (Kelly) Banks, all of Cadiz, and Conrad (Joyce) Banks of Steubenville; four sisters, Loraine "Hope" (Monte) Wheeler of Columbus, Regina (Larry) Williams and Tammy Banks, all of Cadiz, and Pam (Robert) Braught of Wheeling; and a host of other family members. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Cadiz, OH with Paul Giffin officiating.
