Darlene Mae Miller, age 61, of Jewett, Ohio, formerly of Wooster, Ohio and Fort Walton Beach, Florida, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at 3:05 a.m.. at her home. She was born on October 24, 1941 to the late Forrest and Evelyn Raker Walters, in Wadsworth, Ohio. Darlene worked at Apple Creek Development Center for 24 years as a nurse aid and therapist. After moving to Florida, she worked form Publux Supermarkets for 8 years. She and her first husband, the late Charles ''Doc'' Miller made their home in Wooster, Ohio for 22 years. She and her second husband, the late John Thacker make their home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida area. Darlene loved her Indian heritage; she also lived for and loved the Lord with all her heart. Darlene was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by both of her husbands; 2 brothers: Danny and Lewis Walters; and 2 sisters: Suzanne Conover and Kathy Wilda. Darlene was third in a family of 15 children. She loved each and every one of them with equal amounts of love. Darlene is survived by her sisters and brothers: Robert Walters and his wife Romayne of Massillon, Ohio, Gerald Walters and his wife Betty Jo of Burbank, Ohio, Betty Lou Walters (sister-in-law) of Wooster, Ohio, Marjorie Walters of Newella, Oklahoma, Bonnie Post and husband Duane of Byesville, Ohio, Juanita McFarland and husband Jeff of Bradenton, Florida, Forrest (Junior) Walters of Macon, Georgia, Josie Huggins and husband Keith of Jewett, Ohio, and Mary Malcomb and husband Mitch of Jewett, Ohio. Also 17 nephews and 24 nieces, and lots of great nephews and great nieces! Darlene loved all her relatives if the Miller family. She wants them to know that she always considered them family. She will miss us all very much. Her words, ''Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that's the way I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears and sorrow, then don't remember me at all.'' Love Always, Darlene ''Dolly''. Calling hours are Friday, May 23, 12 noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m., at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz with Rev. Ted Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the convenience of the family. The family has asked for memorial contributions to be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Central Ohio Chapter, 2225 City Gate Drive, #E, Columbus, Ohio 43219.
