Clarice Ada Anderson, 90, of New Athens, died Saturday at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz. She was born July 30, 1920 in Belmont County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Oscar and Ada Glass Thornton. Mrs. Anderson was a member and former organist at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. She also served as organist at the New Athens Presbyterian Church and the Drummond United Methodist Church in Cadiz. She assisted her late husband in running a grocery store and bowling alley in New Athens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, T.C. "Pat" Anderson in 2004; a grandson, Eric L. Anderson; a brother, Lester Thornton; and three sisters, Erma Zeyer, Lucille Lewis and Eleanor Krinke. Surviving are a daughter, Jeannette (Charles) Arnold of Leesburg, FL; a son Lester (Sandra Lee) Anderson of Millersport, OH; three grandchildren, Peggy (Fred) Shurtz, Greg (Judy) Arnold and Aron (Julie) Anderson; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Marjorie Spragg of Dover and Vivian Cook of Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Barry Hall officiating.
