Charles R. Sowers, 67, Kenwood, Ohio died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born November 21, 1937 in Flushing, Ohio a son of the late Charles Clifford and Ina Pearl Beale Sowers. He was a retired coal miner having worked at Y&O #1 Mine, a member of the UMWA, and a member of the Springdale Friends Church in Kenwood. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by 2 brothers: Dave and Don Sowers; and 2 sisters: Ethel Sampson and Evelyn Milliken. He is survived by his wife Linda Cunningham Sowers; 2 sons: Charles Sowers and his wife Ginger of Cadiz and Dwayne Sowers of the home; a daughter, Candy Nitz and husband Phil of Jewett; 4 grandchildren: Katrina (Jeremy) Bleininger, Jeremy Nitz, Chuckie and Brandon Sowers; 2 great grandchildren: Austin and Alexis Bleininger; 2 brothers: Raymond and Gary Sowers both of Cadiz; 5 sisters: Sylvia Worwa of Mt. Pleasant, Betty Barnhart and Maryellen Tuchek both of Cadiz, Ruth Toto of Adena, and Grace Cramer of Connecticut. Calling hours are Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Hazelton officiating.
