Cecil Mills

Cecil Clyde Mills, 87, of Cadiz, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at Lifeline Hospital in Wintersville. He was born February 26, 1926 in Cadiz, a son of the late Sylvester and Oma Mills. Clyde was a retired Coal Mining Manager having worked for Hanna, Consolidation, Horizon and Muskingum Coal Companies and was a member of the UMWA. He was a Marine Veteran of WW II and was a devoted member of the East Warren St. Church of Christ in Cadiz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Troy, and Virgil Mills and a sister, Opal Moore. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Barker Mills; three daughters, Kathy (Mark) Wiley of Highlands Ranch, CO, Barbara (Phil) Gardner of Uhrichsville, OH, Debbie (Mike) Jamison of Cadiz; a son, Rick of Marysville, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Kent, Kari, Kaci, Kimberly, Shannon, Bryan and Tara; seventeen great grandchildren; and a sister, Lola (Jerry) Simms of Blacklick, OH. Friends may call Monday, 4-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Evangelist Charles Newell officiating.
